Traditional psychotherapy happens in 45 – 50 minute sessions once a week. Linda’s experience working with the mind-body-spirit has taught her that each person responds uniquely to the space and time in which the therapeutic process takes place.
90-minute sessions every other week (or every three weeks or monthly) in Linda’s Portland office is an option most of her clients prefer. This gives time to go deeply into an issue and bring some internal shifts and resolution.
Others need the sustained support that weekly sessions can bring – especially during a crisis or healing period.
Still others work better within a 60-minute framework, and find that it is important to do their work in smaller “chunks” in order to fully metabolize it.
Others prefer to address their issues in the intensive weekend format Linda offers at the Oregon Coast five times every year. A three-day personal retreat with lots of time for personal reflection provides the context for six hours of individual therapy and two hours of group training that teaches skills for take-home use. An important part of the intensives is group practice of a Daily Energy Routine, getting participants ready for the therapeutic work as well as building an important daily habit. In this setting, deep-seated issues can be addressed which may be difficult to manage along with every-day life. Taking time away can give the mind-body-spirit permission to go deeper and effect meaningful change on a more profound level than is usually possible.
For her out-of-town clients, Linda offers three options:
1. Phone sessions. With the use of a speaker phone, this work can easily be done over the phone. A quiet, private place for the session is of course a prerequisite.
2. An in-town intensive. Linda is available to schedule prolonged sessions over a weekend. Or, she offers daily sessions over a 7- or 10-day period, interspersed with the same practice of a Daily Energy Routine offered on the coastal weekends. Call her if you are interested, and she will help you find local accommodations.
3. Linda travels twice a year to Cleveland, Ohio (east side), to do intensives with a group of clients there. She is available to travel elsewhere, as well, if a sufficient number of people are interested.
A format for the future: Linda has been experimenting with a format called “Spiritual Friends” in which three individuals work together, taking turns in supporting one another in the healing process. The general format described in A New Kind of Therapy is used, with the introduction of a massage table on which the person who is the focus of the session is lying. His or her “spiritual friends” support the work through various energy holds, either at Linda’s instruction or based on their own intuition. Thus far the depth of the healings which have taken place in this context has been astonishing.
The setting in which the therapeutic work occurs is inseparable from the process. Linda’s office in downtown Portland, Oregon, is a homey place filled with plants, antiques and fountains, located in a beautiful century home. Filled with love and prayers, it provides a serene and safe container in which her clients do their work.
At the Coast, the weekend intensives are held in a beach house with comfortable facilities within view and smell of the Pacific Ocean. Long walks on the beach are interspersed with journaling or just relaxing with coffee in the charming town of Manzanita. Picture yourself taking a deep breath, and letting the stress of everyday life go. Now you are ready to listen inside, to dive deep into the world of your unconscious and your soul, and to allow your mind-body-spirit to release and heal.
Call or e-mail Linda for times and schedules. Three weekend intensives are offered during winter/spring and two during the fall months.
90-minute sessions are $140, with a $10 discount for paying in full by cash or check at the time of service, and not billing insurance. 60-minute sessions are $100 with the same $10 discount.
Visa and Mastercard payments (credit or debit) are fine. There is a $5 discount when paying in full for the session at the time of service.
Weekend coastal intensives are $560 for the six hours of individual therapy, $50 for the group session (required), and $100 for lodging. Non-participating partners are welcome to come and stay with the client (and attend the group session) for no cost. Clients have the option to bring their own food and prepare it in the full kitchen, or to eat at local restaurants. There is a $30 discount for paying at the time of service by check or cash (not billing insurance or paying by credit card), and an additional $30 discount for paying in full 30 days in advance of the intensive date.
Early registration for coastal intensives is advised since attendance is limited to 2 or 3 individuals.
Linda is a Licensed Professional Counselor and many health insurance companies will cover her services. If you wish to utilize this option, you will need to call your insurance company and ask a number of questions about your coverage. Linda will be glad to send you a list of these questions upon request. Once this information is obtained, Linda will bill your insurance company directly for her services. This option can also be used for intensives.
This applies only to insurances with out-of-net-work benefits because Linda is not on any insurance panels.
Until the first payment has been received from the insurance company, you will be requested to pay in full for your sessions with Linda. She will credit your account or reimburse you for any monies you pay which are subsequently paid by your insurance. After that first payment is received, you will only be responsible for your co-pay.
Further information about billing insurances is available from Linda upon request. Email her here.
